明治以降、日本の近代化に伴い、全国的に普及したボトムスの一種、ステテコです。
薄手の生地で作られ、肌に密着せず、汗の吸着が良い木綿を使用した夏向けのパンツで、インナーパンツとしても着用されていたようです。
近年、日本の大手衣料品店からもリリースされていますので、ご存知の方も多いかもしれませんね。
肌着の特性上、現れた汚れも雰囲気が良く、ジャパンヴィンテージの大きな魅力の一つですね。
以前の所有者はウエストゴムを切って、結んで履いていたようです。
