厚く中綿が入る日本式の防寒着、丹前(たんぜん)です。
また、褞袍(どてら)とも呼ばれる事がある長着の一つです。
その歴史はとても古く、遡ると吉原の有名な遊女だった勝山と言う女性の衣装が原型だったとされています。
見た目のインパクトもさることながら、こんなデザインの衣料は世界を見渡しても日本だけですね。
日本が島国だと言うことも要因の一つですが、最近ではこのいい意味での特異性が海外を中心にジャパンヴィンテージとして認知され、評価されております。
