米袋 | Japanese Fabric Bag
古い米袋。
米袋は、文字通り、お米を持ち運んだり保管する際に使用される袋です。
昭和初期頃までは、冠婚葬祭などの際に米を持ち寄り、心意を示す風習が各地域であり、その際にもこの米袋は使用されていました。手持ちの小さなはぎれ等をかき集めて作るので、自ずとつぎはぎのクレイジーパターンになり、程よい主張が良い感じです。
また、民藝が日本のみならず、世界で評価される今、こういう米袋がもっと評価されても良いと個人的に思います。
ここ数年、巾着バッグがトレンドですので、そういった点からアプローチしてみるのも楽しいですね。

Old rice bag.
A rice bag is literally a bag used to carry and store rice.
Until the early Showa period, it was customary in each region to bring rice to ceremonial occasions to show their will, and this rice bag was also used at that time.
Since it is made by scraping up small pieces on hand, it naturally becomes a patchy crazy pattern, and it feels good to make a reasonable claim.
Also, now that Mingei is evaluated not only in Japan but also in the world, I personally think that such rice bags may be evaluated more.
Drawstring bags have been a trend for the past few years, so it's fun to approach from that point.
