The silk haori of the 1940s and 50s is solved to make a sakiori remake fabric.
A cloth that has been damaged or has become unnecessary is torn finely, and a cloth or cloth that has been woven is called sakiori.
The history is very old and dates back to about the middle of the Edo period.
Because of the cold climate, it is especially popular in the Tohoku region, where silk and cotton were very valuable, and in the late Edo period, fissures began to be created from Hokuriku to the Kinki region.

1940～50年代頃の絹羽織を解いて、裂織にしたリメイクファブリックになります。
傷んだり不要になったりした布を細く裂き、織り上げた布や衣類を裂き織りと言います。
その歴史は非常に古く、江戸時代中期頃まで遡ります。
寒冷な気候のために、絹や綿が非常に貴重だった東北地方では特に盛んであり、江戸時代後期には北陸から近畿地方にでも裂織が作られるようになっていきました。
明治時代以降は貿易などの発展により、裂織は減られる事が稀になっていきましたが、現代においては独特の風合いや芸術的価値が評価され、光が当たるようになっています。
ラグに近いような独特のゴワっとした生地の質感がとても良いです。
また、遊び心を感じさせる赤い布が織り込まれ、ドットのようなデザインはモダンな印象も受けますね。
裏返すとドットが入った部分はラインのようになっており、それぞれの面の雰囲気の違いも楽しいと思います。
私はストールやスカーフとして使ってみましたが、絵になりますので壁に飾ったりとインテリアファブリックとしてお使いになられても良いですね。
