帯枕を隠し、帯の上部を飾るこちらのような布を帯揚げ(おびあげ)と言います。

この帯揚げが少し見えると、華やかで引き締まった印象となり、帯周りのお洒落を楽しめるポイントの一つとなります。

既存の使い方とは別に、和装だけに拘らず、自由な発想で考えるとこの帯揚げは無限の可能性があると思います。
