This tanzen is a kind of long kimono called dotera. In Tohoku and Hokkaido, kaimaki (bedding) is sometimes called tanzen.
This prototype of tanzen is said to be in the costume of Katsuyama, who was a famous prostitute of Yoshiwara (a man's playground certified by the Edo Shogunate), and the men who passed there were similar to tanzen It is said that it spread from wearing.
I personally think that the word “mode” looks good with its distinctive design and unique appearance.
Even if you look around clothing around the world, this atmosphere is unique, but it is nonsense to categorize only the category of Japanese clothes.
Also, the detail that should be evaluated is aizome on both sides.

1930～40年代頃のジャパンヴィンテージ藍染丹前になります。
中に厚く綿を入れ、保温性を高めた日本の防寒具の一つ、丹前(たんぜん)です。
この丹前は、褞袍(どてら)とも呼ばれる長着の着物の一種で、東北や北海道では、掻巻(寝具)の事を丹前という場合もあります。
この丹前の原型は、吉原(よしわら:江戸幕府によって公認された遊廓)の有名な遊女であった勝山の衣裳にあると言われており、そこに通った男達が丹前によく似た物を着た事から広まっていったとされています。
特徴的なデザインや独特の佇まいはモードという言葉がよく似合うと個人的に思います。
世界各国の衣料を見渡したとしてもこの雰囲気はオンリーワン、しかし和服というカテゴリーだけにカテゴライズしておくのは現代ではナンセンスです。
また、両面共に藍染というのも評価すべきディテールですね。
表面は藍染縞模様、そして、肩周辺に別の生地が縫い付けられた独特の切り替えもセンスが良いと思います。
そして、裏面は貴重な藍無地です。
色の濃淡が異なっていたり、所々から見える縞模様とのコントラストも秀逸な仕上がりです。
この裏面の切り替えは意図して仕立てられたものではないと思いますが、センスの良さとして評価できるのも先人の審美眼の良さならではですね。
また、仕立て糸も良いアクセントだと思います。
