ジャパンヴィンテージはハードコアだと思い始めました。
こんな手の掛かった美しい物がある日本は素晴らしいです。
もっと日本人は内に目を向けた方が良いですね。

Japan is wonderful because it has such beautiful items.

・年代:昭和時代
・素材:ウールやコットンなど多数の素材が使用されていると思われます。
昭和時代頃のジャパンヴィンテージ裂き織り古布になります。
傷みが進み、不要になったりした布地を細く裂き、再度織り上げた布や衣類全般を裂き織り(さきおり)と言います。
究極のエコやリサイクルとも言われ、その歴史は江戸時代中期頃までへと遡ります。
また、裂き織りは寒冷で絹や綿が近代まで大変貴重だった東北地方で特に盛んでありました。
この裂織文化は工業化が進んだことにより、殆ど消滅したかに思われましたが、現代においては独特の風合いや芸術的価値が評価されるようになり、テキスタイルデザイナーや作家も存在するほどです。
裂き織りになっているので、詳しい年代や詳細は分かりかねますが、おそらく戦後の物だと思われます。
縁に使われている黒い布は大正から昭和初期頃に掛けて製造された物で間違いありません。
また、生地全体を見渡すと細かな裂き織りで織られ、線になった裂き織りの箇所があるので、あくまでもこの布を作る前提で織られた裂き織りだと思われます。(襤褸などの繰り返し直され使い続けられた物ではございません。)
色合い含めてですが、柔らかな雰囲気がとても好印象で襤褸とは違った魅力のお品ではないでしょうか。
また、作家が作るような狙った意図を感じさせない素朴さもこの裂き織りの魅力です。
そして、この大きめのサイズは本当に珍しいですね。
カーペットとしても十分お使いいただけますし、壁に掛けておくだけでもお部屋の雰囲気が一気に良くなると思います。
今、一から作ったらかなりのハイプライスになりますし、雰囲気を考えるとヴィンテージを選びたくなりますね。
古い裂き織りは本当に見つかりませんので、お探しだった方は是非お手元へ。

・ Date: Showa period
・ Material: It seems that many materials such as wool and cotton are used.
It becomes the Japan vintage sakiori japanese fabric of the Showa era.
The sakiori refers to all fabrics and clothing that have been damaged and that have been cut into pieces that are no longer needed and then woven again.
It is said to be the ultimate ecology and recycling, and its history goes back to the middle of the Edo period.
In addition, sakiori was particularly popular in the Tohoku region where it was cold and silk and cotton were very precious until the modern times.
This sakiori culture seemed to have almost disappeared due to industrialization, but in the present day, unique textures and artistic values have been evaluated, and there are textile designers and writers.
Since it is sakiori, I cannot understand the detailed age and details, but it is probably post-war.
There is no doubt that the black cloth used for the edges was manufactured from the Taisho period to the early Showa period.
Also, if you look around the entire fabric, it is woven with fine sakiori and there is a line of sakiori, so it seems to be sakiori woven only on the premise of making this cloth. (It is not something that has been re-used repeatedly, such as boro, etc.)
Including the hue, the soft atmosphere is a very good impression and it may be an attractive item different from boro.
In addition, the sakiori's charm is the simplicity that does not make you feel the intended intentions of the artist.
And this large size is really rare.
You can use it as a carpet enough, and just hanging it on the wall will make your room feel better.
Now, if you make it from scratch, it will be a very high price, and if you think about the atmosphere, you will want to choose a vintage.
