1930～40年代頃のジャパンヴィンテージ木綿縞模様もんぺパンツになります。
ゆとりのあるヒップ周りと絞られていく裾が特徴的な日本固有の作業着パンツ、もんぺ。
着物等の裾を中に入れて着用することを前提としており、作業に適したシルエットと履き心地の良さから日本では古くから着用されていたアイテムの一つです。
このもんぺの語源は、アイヌ語でズボンを意味する「オムンペ」や、「股引(ももひき)」から来た等々、諸説ございます。
また、太平洋戦争中は女性の着用が義務付けられていた歴史もあります。
今考えるとそれだけ当時としては、機能的で完成されたアイテムだということを物語っています。
また、洋服がON/OFF共にスタンダードとなった今、新鮮さと共に「和」の雰囲気を持つアイテムとして再評価の機運が高まっています。
両サイドにスリットが入り、前後で別れる一般的なタイプで、腰紐で縛り、閉じて履く仕様です。
現行でファッションアイテムとして販売されている物はウエストゴムが殆どなので、こちらのような古い年代の紐タイプは既に貴重です。

Monpe is a workwear pants unique to Japan that features a generous hip circumference and squeezed hem.
It is presumed to be worn with the hem of a kimono inside, and it is one of the items that have been worn in Japan for a long time because of its silhouette suitable for work and good comfort.
There are various theories such as "Omunpe" which means trousers in Ainu language, "Momohiki", etc.
There is also a history that women were obliged to wear during WW2.
If you think about it now, it means that it is a functional and completed item for that time.
